Due to predicted strong storms tonight, all practices and activities after school have been canceled.

Elementary Halloween parade will take place tomorrow (Thurs, Oct 31) at 2:30 pm and will be followed by class parties in classrooms. Families are asked to gather in the new gym to view the parade. The JH basketball games scheduled for Monday, November 11th will be played at Alma, not at Paxico. B team games will start at 4:30 as well, not 4:00. Go Vikings!

The Mission Valley FFA chapter was well represented the past week in Indianapolis at the 97th National FFA Convention and Expo. The Environmental Science and Natural Resource Team placed in the Silver Division. As individuals, Conner Hoelting, Dakota Brown and Adaline Bloomfield placed in the Silver division. Hunter Tenbrink placed in the Bronze division. Mission Valley FFA was awarded the 2-Star National Chapter Award, putting us in the top 5% of all FFA chapters across the nation. 4 FFA Members received their American FFA Degree which is highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization. Only 1% of all FFA members achieve this great honor. Congratulations to Corbett Hinck, Nick Kuntz, Kyler Stephenson and Lexi Studebaker for receiving their American FFA Degrees. Dr. Kelly Hoelting received the Honorary American Degree honoring her dedication and commitment to Agricultural Education, the FFA and much more!

Great day for MV cross country! Season personal best times for everyone and Isaac Elgin is headed to state! He will run next Saturday at Wamego Country Club at 11:45.

Mission Valley captures the win tonight 62-12 over Maranatha Christian Academy. The Vikings are 5-3 on the season heading into post season next week! Go Vikings!

Our cross country team will compete at Regionals on Saturday. (See flyer for details) Go Vikings!

Our HS football team travels to Maranatha on Friday for our final district game. It will be an 8 man game due to them not having enough players. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00. Cost for admission is $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. The address is 7055 Silverheel St. Shawnee, KS 66226 Go Vikings!

MVHS sent their "MV Wildcats" Engineering team to KU today to compete in the Civil Engineering competition. The team built a structure for a simulated earthquake that had to withstand the 'shaking' and 'load bearing' portions of the event, as well as give a presentation to the judges regarding their design and architectural influences. The students had a great time & learned a lot about future design possibilities, and their mentor from HME Inc. (Topeka, KS) showed up to wish the team good luck. This is just another example of our Viking students competing in events that tie directly to career readiness. #MVFutures #MVCareers #HMEincMVHS
